Great card for anyone with a receiver

Strengths: DTS and DD encoding, 44.1 KHz output, Installation, Excellent digital outputs

Weakness: Driver software, Documentation

I changed out my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS for this card simply because of the full size digital outs, 44.1 output, and its encoding abilities. All those expectations have been met. I am satisfied with my purchase of this card. I hope they continue to release more driver updates as there are still some features that don't work as well as they should. The speaker levels specifically need work. It...

Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect...

Strengths: Support Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect. Coax and Optical Digital Outputs

Weakness: Driver is not good enough compared with the hardware. No connector to the case front panel jack..

This sound card support Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect which Creative Sound Card does not have. If you have speakers with a digital input, this is the card for you. Some creative sound cards (the expensive model with front panel or external box) support optical out, but the connection from the front panel is ugly. One wish is that this card has a connector to the case front panel...

Awesome Card!!

Strengths: Dolby Digital Live DTS Support Full Digital SDPIF Optical and Coaxial

Weakness: None

After much grief with my MSI Neo-4 nforce board's Realtek ALC850 soundcard I finally decided that my HTPC was going to get a decent soundcard no matter what it cost.... I'm sure glad I did my research and did not waste my money on a top line Creative Card. This HDA-Xplosion card has all everything one could want for a HTPC and more. Full SPDIF optical 5.1 -> 7.1 with no hassles. The Realtek 7.1...

a unfinished product

Strengths: bright sound, DDL/DTS encoding, most connectors on board

Weakness: very buggy driver, tech support almost not exist, weak game performance.

I bought this card with a passion, thanks to my experiences with SoundStorm on NF2 platform. After on week playing around with the card, I am very disappointed. The very buggy driver ruined an otherwise great concept. The driver that comes with the unit, as well as the beta that can be downloaded from auzentech web site, are both incredibly broken. Not only it freezes games like BF2, but it also...

HDA X-Plosion 7.1 DTS Connect Sound Card

Strengths: digital output

Weakness: pricey

The only reason I replace creative audigy 2 with Plosion is that I can hook up the sound card to the amplifier. The DDL works well as it supposed to be. But DTS will me crack noise sometimes. I tried to change the configurations but haven't been able to resolve the issue. But this is not a big issue to me since I mainly use DDL.
